It might not generally be thought of as the most fun game in the arena of betting, but keno has massive amounts of zealous admirers. And it should! It’s a regularly exciting lotto-ish game that’s a breeze to play, readily available in many alternate styles, and one that will return millions for people who learn its many subtle intricacies. But let’s deal with the beginner’s rules for now.
When explaining keno to amateurs, some gaming connoisseurs compare it to the lottery. This is at least in part correct, in that each game is essentially numerical. Yet to take that comparison too far is likely to be to detract from the many unique traits that make keno so fun. Unlike bingo, keno players have the ability to pick the numbers for each card.
Keno cards have a total of 80 numbers, but the user is furnished with an extra degree of personal responsibility by being able to pick as numerous (or as few) numbers as he wants. And it doesn’t take a keno superstar to ascertain how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark each of your handpicked numbers with a ordinaryball point pen like you had when you were in grade 3.
Once you have marked your numbers, take your game card back to the nice person at the keno booth. The person will record your numbers and then hand you a receipt. Do not drop this (potentially) valuable bit of paper! Even if the clerk remembers your pretty face and wants help out, without a winning receipt on you, you will collect precisely $.00 for your time spent.
Now there you have strategy number one: always make sure to keep your keno slip. Let us get on to something a bit more useful, ok?
After you’ve picked your numbers, settle into a nice keno booth and observe the action take place on a big video monitor. That is where the winning numbers appear in lights. If you have winning numbers, mark your card aptly. Be sure not to drag your feet, or sit there congratulating yourself for too great a length of time. You want to get up to the keno booth to collect your winnings, since a new round of keno will likely start within five minutes.
Strategy #2: always be sure to get back to the keno booth on time!
Since you do not trust yourself to meet that five-minute margin each time, you always retain the option of purchasing a "multi-race" ticket. These include the self same set of your picked numbers on anywhere from 2 to 20 cards. When the maximum number of keno games (the same as the number of tickets) is completed, you should then get off your numb rump and go get your winnings.
Another alternative is recognized as a "stray and play" keno ticket, which generally allows you make number selection for thirty rounds or more. Hell, you can take vacation to France and not have to fret about getting back in time to collect your numbers. Most "stray and play" cards are good for up to a whole year after you by it!
So now you know a few essential methods for winning keno. If you are an accomplished player, they may appear to be stupidly obvious. Still, it does not hurt to study up on the fundamentals, and if you are a new player, every tiny bit of direction will help make your keno games more enjoyable.
