It may not usually be seen as the most lucrative game in the universe of wagering, but keno has huge amounts of fanatical followers. And so it should! It’s a routinely exciting lotto-like game that’s a snap to pickup, abundantly available in many alternate variations, and one that will return millions of dollars for players who master its uncounted subtle nuances. But let’s start with the beginner’s rules here.

When describing keno to amateurs, some betting connoisseurs compare it to lotto. This is at least in part apt, in that each game is generally numerical. Now that you have picked your numbers, take your keno card back to the clerk at the keno stand. The keno pit manager will record those numbers and then hand you a receipt. Do not misplace this (potentially) valuable piece of paper! Even if the clerk remembers you and wants help out, without a winning slip on you, you will get precisely $.00 for your actions.

So, there you have strategy numero uno: always take care to keep your keno receipt. Let’s get on to something a bit more complex, yes?

Now that you’ve checked off your numbers, settle into a comfortable keno booth and observe the action take place on the keno monitor. This is where the winning numbers appear for us. If you checked winning numbers, mark your card appropriately. Sake care not to take your time, or sit there praising yourself for too great a length of time. You need to get back to the keno booth to collect your winnings, since a new keno game will probably start up within 5 minutes.

Strategy number two: always be sure to get back to the keno stand on time!

Assuming you don’t trust yourself to make that 5 minute deadline each and every time, you always retain the option of buying a "multi-race" card. These include the self same set of your selected numbers on anywhere from two to 20 tickets. When the max number of rounds (matching the amount of tickets) is finished, you will then be able to get off your numb bum and go redeem your winnings.

Yet another alternative is known as a "stray and play" keno ticket, which usually allows you make number choices for 30 keno rounds or more. Golly, you can take all the time in the world and not have to get uptight about getting back in time to retrieve your numbers. Most "stray and play" cards are good for up to a whole year after you by it!

So now you have learned a couple required methods for winning keno. If you are an advanced player, they might appear to be very obvious. Still, it does not hurt to study up on the basic tactics, and if you are a newbie gambler, every tiny bit of information will help make your keno games more entertaining.
