It will not generally be seen as the most fun game in the realm of betting, but keno has millions of zealous supporters. And so it should! It’s a constantly entertaining lotto-type game that’s easy to pickup, readily available in a number of alternate styles, and one that can yield millions for those who learn its innumerable subtle nuances. But let’s deal with the beginner’s rules here.
When explaining keno to novices, some gambling experts compare it to lotto. This is at least partly correct, in that both games are generally numerical. Yet to take that comparison too far might be to undervalue the countless unique aspect that make keno so fun. Unlike bingo, keno users have the power to pick the numbers for each card.
Keno cards have a grand total of eighty numbers, but the user is accord an additional degree of personal responsibility by being able to choose as numerous (or as few) numbers as she wants. And it doesn’t take a genius to figure out how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all your handpicked numbers with a good oldball point pen like you used when you were in third grade.
Once you have checked your numbers, take the keno card back to the clerk at the keno booth. The nice person will record your numbers and then hand you a receipt. Make sure no to misplace this (potentially) expensive piece of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your loud shirt and would like to help out, without a winning ticket in hand, you will win exactly $.00 for your winning card.
Now there you have strategy number one: always make sure to keep your keno slip. Let’s move to something a tiny bit more complicated, what do you think?
After you’ve selected your numbers, get yourself into a comfy keno booth and observe the action take place on the keno monitor. That is where the winning numbers are displayed for us. If you checked winning numbers, mark your card accordingly. Sake care not to drag your feet, or sit there congratulating yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You are required to get back to the keno stand to collect your winnings, since a new drawing will most likely begin within not too many minutes.
Strategy number two: always make it back to the keno stand on time!
Assuming you do not trust yourself to make that 5 minute deadline each time, you always retain the option of buying a "multi-race" ticket. These include the very same set of your picked numbers on anywhere from two to twenty tickets. When the max amount of games (matching the number of tickets) is completed, you can then get off your numb bum and go redeem your winnings.
Still another alternative is recognized as a "stray and play" keno card, which normally lets you make number choices for thirty rounds or more. Heck, you can take vacation to Greece and not have to worry about getting back in time to redeem your winnings. Most "stray and play" slips are good for up to a whole year after it’s bought!
And now you know a handful of necessary techniques for winning keno. If you are an adept gambler, they might seem quite obvious. Still, it will not hurt to bone up on the basics, and if you are a novice user, every little bit of information will help make your keno gambling more entertaining.
