It may not ordinarily be considered the sexiest game in the arena of betting, but keno has loads of keen supporters. And so it should! It’s a consistently exciting lotto-type game that’s uncomplicated to pickup, readily available in several assorted formats, and one that can pay out mega-dollars for gamblers who master its numerous subtle rules. But let’s begin with the beginner’s rules for now.
When explaining keno to amateurs, some gaming masters compare it to the lottery. This is at least to some extent correct, in that each game is generally numerical. Yet to take that comparison too far can be to think too little of the great many unique characteristics that make keno so compelling. Not like bingo, keno enthusiasts have the freedom to choose the numbers for each card.
Keno cards have a grand total of eighty numbers, but the user is accord an additional degree of personal responsibility by being able to determine as many (or as few) numbers as he or she needs. And it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to ascertain how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all of your handpicked numbers with a ordinarypen like you had when you were in school.
Once you have checked your numbers, carry your keno card back to the keno pit manager at the keno booth. The keno pit manager will record those numbers and then give you a receipt. Do not misplace this (potentially) expensive piece of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your loud shirt and would like to help out, without a winning receipt in hand, you will collect exactly $.00 for your time spent.
So, there you have strategy number one: always make sure to keep your keno slip. Let’s move to something a bit more advanced, what do you think?
Once you’ve picked your numbers, settle into a nice keno booth and observe the action happen on the video monitor. That is where the winning numbers appear in lights. If you picked winners, mark your card accordingly. Be sure not to move to slowly, or sit there praising yourself for too great a length of time. You need to get back to the keno stand to redeem your winnings, as a new round of keno will probably get going within not too many minutes.
Strategy #2: always get back to the keno booth on time!
Since you do not trust yourself to make that five-minute deadline each and every time, you always retain the option of buying a "multi-race" card. These include the self same set of your picked numbers on anywhere from 2 to 20 cards. When the max amount of keno games (the same as the number of tickets) is finished, you will then be able to get off your lazy butt and go retrieve your winnings.
Yet an additional alternative is known as a "stray and play" keno card, which commonly lets you make number picks for thirty keno games or more. Golly, you can take vacation to France and not have to fret about getting back in time to redeem your numbers. Most "stray and play" game tickets are good for up to a whole year after it’s bought!
So now you are aware of a couple of indispensable schemes for winning keno. If you are a discerning gambler, they might appear to be very obvious. Still, it will not hurt to study up on the basics, and if you are a new player, every bit of direction will help make your keno games more fun.
