Keno was first played in two hundred BC by the Chinese military leader, Cheung Leung who utilized this game as a way to finance his failing forces. The city of Cheung was waging a war, and after a bit of war time seemed to be looking at a country wide shortage of food with the dramatic drop in supplies. Cheung Leung needed to create a quick response for the financial calamity and to produce revenue for his forces. He thusly developed the game we know today as keno and it was a fantastic success.

Keno was referred to as the White Pigeon Game, because the winning numbers were sent out by pigeons from larger municipalities to the tinier towns. The lotto ‘Keno’ was brought to the US in the 19th century by Chinese immigrants who headed to the US to jobs. In those times, Keno was played with 120 numbers.

Today, Keno is most often bet on with just 80 numbers in just about all of the US land based casinos as well as online casinos. Keno is mainly enjoyed today as a consequence of the laid back nature of wagering the game and the basic reality that there are no skills required to play Keno. Despite the fact that the chances of succeeding are horrible, there is constantly the chance that you might win quite large with very little gambling investment.

Keno is enjoyed with eighty numbers and 20 numbers are selected each round. Enthusiasts of Keno can select from two to 10 numbers and bet on them, whatever amount they are able to. The payout of Keno is according to the bets made and the roll out of matching numbers.

Keno grew in popularity in the United States near the end of the 19th century when the Chinese letters were replaced with more familiar, American numbers. Lottos weren’t covered under the legalization of gambling in Nevada State in Nineteen Thirty One. The casinos renamed the ‘Chinese lottery’ to ‘horse race keno’ employing the concept that the numbers are horses and you are wanting your horses to come in. When a law passed that taxed off track wagering, Nevada casinos quickly adjusted the name to ‘Keno’.
